Portishead Local Group - Secretary (Secretary/Programme Secretary x2)
Our Local Groups play a vital role in helping Avon Wildlife Trust spread the message about protecting nature. We run regular monthly talks for the local community, welcoming inspiring speakers from across the country to share their knowledge and passion for the environment.
As Secretary/Programme, you’ll be at the heart of this work. The role involves:
-
Arranging and organising speakers for monthly talks
-
Designing and managing the programme administration
-
Contacting speakers around two weeks before each talk with reminders and details
-
Arranging speaker payments
This is a great opportunity to build organisational skills, gain insight into the environmental sector, and be part of a friendly, like-minded team making a real difference for wildlife.
Talks and committee meetings are once a month from September to May. Talks are held on a Friday evening and committee meetings are on a Wednesday.
This role can be taken on by one or two people - we are keen to be flexible to make sure the amount of tasks work for you.
No prior experience is required - just enthusiasm, reliability, and an interest in nature.
